Free post: Don Omar

In this post I’ll show you one of the best artist around the world. He’s Don Omar and he’s a reggaeton singer. I knew his music in a party, around eight years ago. It happened in a party when I was 16 years old. In the beginning I didn't like him. In fact, I hated him. But, my very best friend, after this party, began to listen to Don Omar, so when I went to his house I heard Don Omar, because my friend listened to Don Omar, all the time. Summing up, Don Omar's music stick to me.

Well, speaking about Don Omar's music, I can say that his music, reggaeton style, is very rhythmic and it's very good to dance. Actually, many people say that I'm good dancer of reggaeton, I dance all night long (until the floor). 

Some information to bear in mind, Don Omar is 34 yeras old. His musical carrier started in 2002, but it's in 2003 when his first album was lunched. Altogether he has launched fourth studio albums.

English lenguaje.

Hi teacher and English classmates, in this post I’ll speak about English subject.  Speak about English subject is not easy for me, because I like English but I can’t improve my English in long, long time.

Let me tell you my story. When I was child, about seven or eight years old, I play video games with my friends, in this time the video games came to Chile only in English. Then if we wanted finish those games we need understand English. With this motivation for learn English, I could improve my skill in this idiom.  But, when I entered to secondary education, I lost my motivation for video games and I lost my motivation for the English too. Other things became more important for me like go out with my friends or something like this. You can imagine that I didn’t improve my English skill in that time.  

After that, I entered to INACAP, in that time I had English subject but it wasn’t be a good experience. Actually I didn’t improve my English skills. I think that it happened because we didn’t practice English in class. The class only consisted in repeat that the teacher said. I had fourth English courses (English one, two, three and four) and, I repeat it, I didn’t learn any things about English.

Now I’m studying in the University of Chile and finally I could say that I've improved my English knowledge, more than I could do, in much time. I think that it happened because we, my classmates and I, practice English during the class. And it isn’t the only thing, we’ve write constantly in English, yes I think that posts are very important to practice and learn English. Despite all good things about English class I don’t practice English in outside of English class.Hi teacher and English classmates, in this post I’ll speak about English subject.  Speak about English subject is not easy for me, because I like English but I can’t improve my English in long, long time.

Thinking about my future job

In this post I’ll speak about my future job. But, before of that I begin to tell you about it, I need to clarify some things. First, I don’t like to think about long term; actually I don’t like to think in medium term neither. Then, you can imagine that I don’t know how will be my future job or what kind of job is the best for me. Second, I'll try to do the best I can. In other words, I’ll make a great effort trying to think in my, hypothetical, future job. That said I can begin with the post.

A good job for me must be fun, but what is a fun job? A fun job must be different everyday, it must give me new experiences constantly.  I hope that this job has flexible schedule, by that I could do the job at my time. Is very important for me have liberty to act, because I don’t like rule. The rules make me feel caught. Finally, this hypothetical job needs to give the possibility to travel o moved by different cities or countries. I know, I’m asking too much. But what is wrong with it? Some people say “it always pays to ask”.

Maybe, the teach work would be interesting for me. Actually I’ve thought about being a primary teacher when I would become an older man.  In relation to the above, I think that I could be a university teacher in my youth. Maybe, I could be sociology teacher in some university or institute.

Free theme: Play video games

Welcome to my blog again, in this time I’ll talk about one of my hobbies: it’s play video games.
In my free time, I do a lot of things, but the most recurrent is lie down in my bed, turn on my computer desktop, select one of my video games, and play it. I love play video games because they are funny to spend my time, most of they have a very good stories or, I play them, because some video games let me play online with my friends or any people of any part of the world.
My favorites games stile are first persons shooters (fps), action games and role playing game (rpg). I like fps because they are very fast, frenetic, direct and they give me an intensive experience of game. The most common type of fps are the military games, some examples are: Battlefield 3 (my favorite fps), Call of duty, Halo or Crysis. The second kind of video games that I like to play , are action games, this type of games are very funny because give us, very interesting stories, good scenes of action, actually most of them have cinematic sequences like action movies. Finally, I like to play rpg because this type of games have very deep stories, we can play many hours in beautiful worlds, we can personalize ours characters ,  we can do secondary missions that extend the life of video game, etc.
One more things, with my friends, we play football games. Our favorite franchise is FIFA games. We got together to play FIFA and we make bet.

my pet

Hello everyone this time I'll speak about pets. Let me start telling you what kind of animal are my favorite pets: it’s the dogs.
When I was young my grandmother had a dog, its name was boby. Boby was a very clever, nice and faithful. I think that my sympathy for dogs was born with my grandmother’s dog.
Speaking about present, now I have two little dogs, actually they aren’t my pets originally they are my sister’s pets, but when she moved to her new house, she left her pets in my house with my mom. The two dogs are female. The older is call Puffy, and the younger is call “Pelusa”.  A very important thing is that Puffy is the mother of Pelusa. Yes, two years ago Puffy had four babies, one died, two was sold and my mom let one in our house: this one was Pelusa. Other important things is that Puffy is, approximately, four years old. Obviously, Pelusa is, approximately, two years old.
Before that this post ends, I need to speak about, one more things:  It’s the cats. Yes, I like cats too. But, no one in my house likes cats. Actually, my mom, my two sisters and my dad don’t like the cats, because they think that the cats are solitary, strange and, the most important quality, treacherous. This is a very strange idea about cats, but my family thinks this.

How watch a movie

Hello everyone! Today I will write about movies, but I don´t comment any movie in particular. Actually, this post is about “the best environment for watch a movie”. Obviously, this is my opinion and this post isn´t a guide or something like that.   

Well, shoulders to the wheel! The first condition, to watch a movie in a perfect environment, is “to get a big screen”. Yes, the size is very important (speak about movies, you don’t things other things). If you don’t have a big screen, something like 42 inch or more, you can’t see all details that the director’s movies put in it.

The second condition is “to be in a dark room”. If you don’t have a dark room, the light can distract you. In other words, the dark let you concentrate in the screen.

Third: “all about sound”. In this case, two things are very important: 1) to watch a movie in a noiseless room (It’s for can listen to only a movie’s sounds); 2) to have a good sound equipment, obviously it’s let you reproduce the better way the movie’s sounds.

The last condition is “to go for pee”. One of most usual distractions when people watch a movie is to have to stop the movie for to go for pee. Then, to drink few liquid is a very good idea and it’s very recommendable.

The drug of speed: Adderall

In many cities around the world the people live in environments of stress and high demand in theirs works. New York is one of these cities. In an article of Arwa Mahdawi, published on www.guardian.co.uk, the author tells us about of Adderall. It’s a drug that makes possible live in high productivity levels.

“Adderall is the brand name for a cocktail of amphetamines packaged up by big pharma for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) “. It make possible that the Americans “can work harder, faster and longer”.

It’s so effective that some doctors are advocating for give these drugs in kids. These doctors think that Adderall cans help low-income schoolchildren. In words of Doctor Anderson: "We've decided as a society that it's too expensive to modify the kid's environment," he explains. "So we have to modify the kid."

Finally, the article finishes with a critic of author. He says “Adderall, you see, is capitalism's wonder-pill. It optimises your productivity levels, it dulls your personality levels, and it turns you into the closest human approximation there is to a machine.”

I agree with the critic of the author, I think that is ridiculous tray to be a machine. Especially when some people use drugs to work or to studies more and more and more… I hope that this tendency don’t become overcrowded, especially in Chile.

My very best vacations were on 2005. This vacation are special to me because they change my life, since then I’m a new man.  

In the summer of 2005, specifically in month of February of this year, I was hanging out with my friends on the “Las cruces” beach. This we were drinking, in particular I had drink a lot of beers, so one of my friends had the “good idea” of “go to swim”. Little time later, we were swimming, it should be clarified that the tide was high. Immediately afterwards, I was swept out to sea by the current. Thank to the lifeguard I’m alive.

How I say recently, since then my life takes a turn. From this day I convert to religion. From this day God enlighten my heart. From this day I realized that the life is not only for party, the life has a meaning. This meaning is love God.

Now I’m a catholic. I go to the mass every Sunday of the year.

Summing up, Thank to a bad experience I could change my life.

Bolivia, Tiahuanaco

Hello teacher and classmates:

Thinking about what country I'd like to visit or live. I notice that I don´t have idea of where I'd like visit. But I’ll make an effort. My first decision is that the selected country must be in South America. Because all those countries are near to Chile. Besides, in most of those countries the people speak Spanish, so the communication with them could be easier.

The Gate of the Sun is a megalithic solid stone arch or gateway constructed by the ancient Tiwanaku culture of Bolivia over 1500 years before the present. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gate_of_the_Sun)

Well, let me chose a country… I think that I’d like to visit in Bolivia. What I prefer Bolivia? Well, because Bolivia has a many interesting place to know. But, I have only one in mind when I chose Bolivia. This place is Tiahuanaco (Tiwanaku). It’s an archaeological site. This ruins belonged to an Tiwanaku Culture, one of the most important precursors to the Inca Culture (or Inca Empire).  This culture begins approximately between 2000 and 1500 B.C. and finish close to 900 or 100 A.D. 

The pre-columbian ruins are near to the Titicaca Lake, approximately 15km. of distance. Besides, the ruins are 72km. from the city La paz of Perú. If you ask me why I prefer go to Tiwanaku than Machu Picchu. The answer is very simple, because Machu Picchu is too mainstream. Jajajaja Bye-bye 

First term

Hi! my name is Miguel. I'm 24 years old and I live in Maipu. I'm a fourth year student of sociology at University of Chile. 

I spend almost all my time studing

In first term I had 7 subject, namely: public policy, investigation workshop, theory V, sociology of comunication, Structure and social action  in Latin America, "investigación acción participante" workshop and english III. One of de good points about the subjects was that the most of them give pratice knowledge. In other words, the subjects of the first term was designed to "make sociology", not to "think the society". This kind of knowledge is very interesting for me, because I 'm a person that enjoy be in action, in movement. So I prefer make things than think the things.

By contrast, one of the bad points of first term was that I don't had enough time to my hobbies like read novels, play videogames, hanging out with my friends, etc. My only one hobby in first term was stay in the campus drinking some beers with my clasemate like Omar.

Memento a Christopher Nolan' movie

What do you think if I tell you that there's a movie where the end is the beginning and the beginning is the end?. Well, Memento is about this. This film is an American psychological thriller written and directed by Nolan (the same director of Batman beings, Batman: the dark knight and the coming movie to be release this year Batman: the dark knight rise). 

The story is being told in two different timelines: one timeline is in color, the other one is in black and white. The color scenes are alternated for the black and white scenes.Finally, the color sequences start at the end of story and finish at the lastest scenes of the movie, this timeline is in rewining(from the future to the past). On the contrary, the black and white sequences are in normal order (from the past to the future) and they happen before the color sequences.

So, the movie ends when two timelines join. But the story ends with the first scene of color sequences and begin with the first black and white scene. To make easier the understanding of the movie I have attached an image that explains the order of the sequences in the movie. 

To close this post I recommend to watch this movie, because it's a very interesting form to tell a story, and the story is very intensive and interesting. I let you a trailer.

Paul Feyerabend: A mad boy

Born in Austria in January  13, 1924 Paul Feyerabend was an philosopher of science. Next, I going to speak about this mad men:


His better works as a professor in the university of California, Berkeley. His more important book are "Against Method (published in 1975), Science in a Free Society (published in 1978) and Farewell to Reason (a collection of papers published in 1987)"(Wikipedia). He wrote against the science method and he postulated the Epistemological anarchism. He died  in February 11, 1994 in Switzerland.

Feyeraben, across his works, fight against the rules of the science method. He said that this rules limited the activities of scientist. So, he propose a science method that integrate all points of view, this method is call Epistemological  anarchism, in easier words, the idea is that while exits more forms to explain the reality more rich is the human knowledge.

I consider Paul a very interesting Philosopher because hi argument against the rules and rigid method. I think that the rules are a guideline not a law, and the traditional epistemology are very rigid with the science method, in his theory the method is considered as law. So, Feyeraben tell us the possibility of new science, a more humanitarian and creative science.

A photograph of Victor Zafrada: Remembering the last earthquake.

This picture was taken from a interview publicized on "la tercera" dot com. In it we can see a boy called Victor Díaz. Many people know him, but don't know him original name, because in the interview they say "zafrada" instead of "frazada", so, some people begin to call him "Zafrada".

This fact express two things for me: 1) the  good humor sense of Chilean people; 2) this fact remember me the last Chilean's earthquake. This earthquake occurred on Saturday, 27 February  2010, with a magnitud 8.8 in Richter scale. The epicenter was located close to 8th region.


Resume and bearing in mind the two interpretation, this picture are very relevant because express a tragedy and the way that some chilean people choose to make more bearable

"Subway create a free internet computer network in  22 stations"
 
Today, May  28th, the Santiago's subway launched an internet computer network for roughly two million people  per day. It consists in 22 stations equiped with wi fi connection of internet. This service is completely free. The reason of this service is to increase the quality of the trip experience for the subways passengers. 

The project began lastest December and finished today with the inauguration.

The users can be connected for half an hour, after that, they have to wait for five minutes to be able to reconect to the service again. 20 users can be connected at the same time.

The new stations that have free wi fi are distributed in all lines of Santiago's Subway. In line 1 the stations are: U. de Chile, Manquehue, U. De Santiago y Tobalaba.  While the line 2’s stations are: La Cisterna, San Miguel y Vespucio Norte. In line 4 they are: Quilín, Simón Bolívar, Pza. Egaña, Los Orientales, Las Mercedes, Santa Rosa y San Ramón. Finally, the stations with free wi fi of the line 5 are: Baquedano, Bellavista La Florida, San Pablo, Quinta Normal, Carlos Valdovinos, Santiago Bueras, Pudahuel y Gruta de Lourdes.

To sum up, a personal commentary, the free internet computer network are a good piece of news for subway users. It's very useful. I wish that it doesn't finish here, I wish that all subway stations have this service, and that this service is for more than 20 people at same time.

The most clever guy of social sciences department

One of my best friend is Omareitor.

 

I met him in the university, actually he's my classemate. We began studying sociology  in 2009, but in the secod half of that year when we started to talk. Since then we're friend.

I consider that he's one of my best friends because he's one of the most popular man in the department. In fact, many women fell in love with him. I think that it's because he wears glasses so he looks like an intellectual guy and the intellectual guys are very hot for the women of department of social sciences.

This is not all. Apart from that there, he swims. He thinks he is a mermaid or shark (I don't have it very clear). The swimming is one of the activities that we do together, another is studying, and we go out (we party hard).

Finally, the best memory I have with Omareitor is when we traveled through the African savannah. Seriously speaking, it's a lie, we don't go to the African savannah.  I don't have best memory about Omareitor, because he is very boring.
